With last month being dominated by il Giro, June is about to kick off with the 76th edition of the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg (2.HC). With 6 ProTeams (Leopard-Trek, RadioShack, Sky, Liquigas, Vacansoleil and Katusha), 10 ProContinental and 1 Continental team at the start, this year’s edition promises to be an exciting 5-day race again. It includes an evening prologue through the city centre and several medium mountain stages with a total distance of 733.2 kilometers. Today’s prologue makes the contenders go around the ‘ville’ for 2,659 kilometers, where the pavement and turns may be tricky at times. After a descent to the old part of Luxembourg-city, the Grund, the riders have to climb up the short, but steep and cobbled Montee du Grund a.k.a. Breedewee (56 metres height difference) from which it is only 700 metres to the finish. Whom of the specialists among the bunch will be able to beat the clock to it? We will be on the spot where the action is! Reporting live from Luxembourg all week, so make sure you keep track of us. We will start our live coverage on Twitter at 19:00 CET.
