Vuelta a España (stage 2)

Stage 2 runs from Alcalá de Guadaíra to Marbella, one of the most tourist cities along the Spanish coast (173,7 kilometres). Last time the race finished in Marbella was in 1996. It is a hilly stage with only one rated climb: Alto de Pruna (630 metres at km 74 – cat. 3). The first approximately 30 kilometers are flat and then the ascending starts. The highest part will be reached when the riders arrive in Ronda, from which it is a 50 kilometres long descent to Marbella. Seeing this long descent and the last 9 kilometres flat part, it is a good opportunity for the sprinters. Current GC: 1. Cavendish / 2. P. Velits / 3. M. Velits / 4. Bak / 5. Roulston. We are live on Twitter at 16:00 CET and livestreams will be up and running as well.
